Arthur

Another lovely day with temperatures in the mid 20s. Staying in the sun was generally not recommended. I went out early (ish) to do my shopping for this evening's dinner. Met Arthur on the way home.

Arthur was headmaster at one of the local schools and after he retired he was correspondent for our town at the Darlington & Stockton Times. He recently fell and broke his hip. He is just beginning to get out for very short walks with the aid of his stick. His wife had sent him out to change her library books. That's about 200 yards from their house to the library.
