Party!

We had a garden party to celebrate Lily's 2nd birthday.

Thankfully the weather came good and we even had to apply suncream (which was amusing given several of the small people arrived in wellies, just in case!). It was such a lovely day. We were joined by family and friends, many of whom didn't know each other (well, if at all) yet everyone chatted/played together wonderfully. I love it when parties feel that relaxed and you get to enjoy them even though you're 'hosting' and there's always something to do. There was some great teamwork in building the children's swingset from Nanan and Grandpops and while the adults (and Brodie) got on with that, the children mainly sat in the box, being pulled around by ropes. All these toys and they play with the boxes. Some things never change :D

The rainbow cake worked and seemed to go down well (even though I kinda forgot we needed to cut it until several people had already left so sorry if you missed yours!) and the bouncy castle was a big hit.

They have both had some lovely gifts, thanks for each and every one x

It was 11pm by the time they went to bed. Good job its the school holidays.
So begins a summer of fun!
