Goodbye Tiree - I do not want to leave!
We had a pretty big night on Sunday - the Sunday night ended with local band Skerryvore and the place literally went bananas. Our breakfast money for Monday morning quickly disappeared in a cloud of drams but it was well worth it - me and Mr V went for it!
It meant Monday morning was a bit groggy but we were picked up at 9am by our friends who have a house on Tiree once we had all packed up our tent. And I'm so thankful. Not only did they make us tea and eggs on toast, they took us to the most beautiful beach I've been to.Maybe the most beautiful place. We played frisbee on the sand and just laughed and laughed. Grogginess all vanished and we had the best time. And I took lots of pictures like this.
On our way to the airport, a random band of haar appeared,so our flight was delayed by an hour or so. This meant we sat in the "terminal" (room) and the airport lady shouted out some updates everyso often to the 40-odd people there. The snacks in the terminal consisted of a tuck shop with an honesty box. Amazing. Because of the festival 'crowds' they had put on 2 planes to depart that day - they filled the first one up, and left about 15 of us. That meant we were on the small plane! Me and 14 others squeezed ourselves onto the WEE plane, the pilot had a chat with us from the front about the trip (have a look at the safey card if you want, he said) and said he was try and get us home quick as he knew we hadn't washed in a while! He swung back round and we had a great view of the pilot since there was no door.
The sun was out and the view was stunning - seeing the wee nooks and crannie's of Scotlands West Coast islands is always so special. We flew right over the festival site and waved goodbye.
Never felt so sad to leave somewhere - but feel so lucky to have had enjoyed such an amazing weekend.
