An Avid Lensman

Stunning!

Thursday July 17th

Please DO excuse the horrifically preposterous and pretentious title, but when you leave the shutter open for nearly eleven minutes and have no idea what you're going to get - and you get this....

Well, I think it's my most beautiful Blip to date.

LARGE!

The remnants of sunset, along with stars, over a field of barley AND a lonely tree, well, that's quite a rich mixture...

Calling it 'Lonely Tree' would hardly do it justice...

Time of exposure 23.20, over two hours after sundown and to the eye, almost total darkness. Incredible what a VERY long exposure can bring out.

Lens is Nikkor 10-24mm

I have subsequently submitted this to Salisbury Journal for possible publication.
