Sandstone Pattern

We were up early this morning as we were going on a trip to Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire with the U3A. When we left home it felt rather autumnal as there was a sea fret which extended right across to the A19. Once we got a bit further south-west the sun came out and it was lovely all day.

Renishaw Hall is the home of the Sitwell family and is a Jacobean mansion set in Italianate gardens with woodland walks and lakes. It was used for filming BBC's 'Pride and Predudice'.

I could have blipped a picture of the house and garden but decided on one of my favourite subjects, the detail in a sandstone block in the wall of the old stable buildings.
