EVENING OUT

A meal out with Hellonwheels tonight, and very enjoyable too, though there was drama to end the evening with!

A shout of "someone's fallen down a manhole" brought our conversation to an abrupt end. Though after the initial drama, I think a lady had tripped over a manhole cover rather than plummeted down it. Anyway, an ambulance was summoned and who was on the crew but G from Hawes who had come to our assistance several weeks ago.

G from Hawes was very adept with the scissors as, with the lady complaining of pains in her legs, he swiftly cut her trousers from toe to thigh to look for injuries. There seemed nothing obvious and she was helped to her feet and taken off to the ambulance, trousers flapping. Which gave G and I a brief moment to catch up on my neighbour's prognosis; which is not good, but without the emergency admission she has been told she would still be in a long queue for surgery. So thank you the Yorkshire ambulance service, you may not be able to cure all ills but you certainly help one hell of a lot. And what cheerful, calm people you are, thank you.
