Bike is word for a wasps' nest, and I have just learned that it is a Scots word, not a standard English word. That is the second time in so many days I have been surprised this way - the first was 'swithering'- which I had no idea was not an English word. Anyway - this has little to do with the blip, which is a very new nest with the queen and the first few of her offspring feeding the next generation of larvae.
