Cairn Gorm Resident

I FOUND A PTARMIGAN!!! :) :) :)

In fact we saw 4, some teenagers amongst them I think. An amazingly beautiful day - sooooo warm! We took the funicular railway up Cairn Gorm, and had a guided walk to the summit. The views were astonishing - as far as Bennachie one way and Ben Nevis the other. Even the Moray coast.

Aside from chickens, the grouse family are very nearly my favourite birds (owls have to take the biscuit), and I adore ptarmies and their fluffy feet. Also spied Mr and Mrs Snow Bunting and a wheatear, but they were mostly moving a bit fast for me.

Now watching Scotland win some medals in the pool.
