Aperture on Life

Brimstone

The Maltese Crosses in my garden have been outstanding this year. The border was a blaze of red flowers which have even survived the constant wind. The last flowers are attracting the Brimstone butterflies. Get camera and butterfly disappears!

It hadn't gone far. Rocky the lamb had pruned my rose, almost to it's roots, but with some mushroom compost and a few handfuls of the manure the sheep are providing it's stronger than ever. The leaves are somewhat yellow for my fervour for adding an excess of nutrients so, the Brimstone was almost invisible amongst the foliage.

One Brimstone hiding on a rose bush.
