Taps aff

The commonwealth games has a village newspaper which, among other items, aims to teach the visitors some Glaswegian or Scottish words and phrases. One of today's was "taps aff", defined as when the weather is good enough for the local gentlemen to remove their tops and wander bare chested. It strikes me as ironic that I spent the day in the home for 4,500 elite athletes and not one of them felt the urge to get their taps aff.

First thing was a wonderful swim in Loch Lomond. And no, I didn't take my tap aff either. It was very tempting though :-)
