Is this a ladybird?

A few insects about this evening due I am sure to the very hot weather. Another scorching day in Glasgow with temperatures in the 80s Fahrenheit. They were mostly clustered round the plum tree and included wasps, hover flies, flies, bees and this one.

It looks to me like a ladybird but it doesn't have the traditional red and black colouring I would expect so the question is, 'Is it a ladybird and if not then what is it?'
