The Prow

My Tapuae-o-Uenuku or The Prow from the Awatere Valley.

I had to go out to our sister winery, Vavasour, to see my boss and to take out our DO meter for the cellar staff to run some tests.

On the way back I stopped to take a shot of "Tappy" as we call it locally. He was hiding his face a little but is still quite a majestic mountain!

This is the highest mountain in the South Island outside of the Alps. It sits in the Inland Kaikoura range. Very popular with mountaineers. Sir Ed Hilary used "Tappy" as a training mountain!

A beautiful day in Marlborough once again. How lucky are we to live here! :)
