Spokes....(for different folks)

Sunday 20th July

Vintage Car Rally

A couple of hours spent at a vintage and classic car enthusiast's rally in the grounds of Breamore House (a stately home on Hampshire/Wiltshire border).

I used almost exclusively my favourite lens for such, my old Sigma EX 70-200mm f2.8, to pick out details and create abstract patterns from limited depth of field. You also get a much more pleasing and natural perspective when viewing a beautiful vehicle, especially head-on, from a slight distance. A wide aperture also helps throw out the inevitable distracting everyday backgrounds.

However I stopped the lens well down to help get as many of these spokes in focus, shining beautifully in the hot afternoon's sun.

If you guessed that this was the wheel hub of the classic Jaguar E Type, then you would be correct. The red is reflected from an adjoining vehicle.

Extraordinarily tired now, on evening of posting, too much sitting in the sunshine and was intending to go out this evening. But I will catch up with you all later!
