The European Market

The main pedestrianised part of the High Street in town today was much different from usual - for the better, I would say! In fact it did not really seem like Lincoln at all! The European Market was in town for one thing - not as many stalls as it sometimes brings, but still lots of continental sweets and savouries to choose from (All at pretty steep prices! More's the pity!) I did try some spicy jerk chicken and rice, which was a delicious, if more Caribbean than European, flavour.

Also in the same part of town, the Big Screen TV was showing coverage from the Commonwealth Games in front of an Astroturfed picnic area where many people - me included - enjoyed our market food.

The beautiful hot sunshine is the thing that made the greatest difference of course! Had it been the usual cool, overcast breezy weather I doubt there would have been such a laid back, relaxed holiday vibe about the place!
Vive La Lincoln!!!
