One Big Hot Hill!!!

Mount Vesuvius is a stratovolcano in the Gulf of Naples, Italy, about 9 km east of Naples and a short distance from the shore.
It is one of several volcanoes which form the Campanian volcanic arc. Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera caused by the collapse of an earlier and originally much higher structure.

The visit today was lovely and just reminds you that even in this present day we are still at the hands of Mother Nature. Fortunately now there are meters and alarms in place to protect the local people, never again shall there be the deaths like in AD79!!!
