Mardis Gras!

To mark the start of the Edinburgh Jazz Festival there is an annual "Mardis Gras" as The GrassMarket, where lots of bands plat jazz on a number of stages. The bars sell beer in plastic cups so you can wander around the Grassmarket (normally you're not allowed to take from the premises). The last couple years it has been lovely hot, sunny weather and a lot of fun. Unfortunately this year the weather was pretty wet, grey and miserable, we went down and had a couple beers but the weather was pretty poor so we retreated to The Hanging Bat after a while.
