lovely lace

Normal Saturday. Waitrose. Free paper, but decided to actually pay for a coffee instead of the Waitrose freebie. so off to Costa to meet up with Jocelyn who had just had her hair undercut, looks lovely. Mark joined us later too.
Jos went off to her barbi while myself and Mark took a look around the local festival.
Noticed that my cousin (Carol's ramblings) was at the Dogmersfield village fete, via Facebook . So we sped off with Terry in tow to have a look-see. It was really quaint. Vegetable and baking competitions, splat the rat, Punch and Judy, tombolas galore!
Carol was in a very 'warm' tent with other crafters. She was displaying lace items and showing how to create lace with her lace group. Its really great to see such beautiful painstaking work being done by hand! The bilp is the item she is currently working on. I wont say too much about it just in case the details are confidential....

It is a very organised event, marque tents are erected ready (there is a "craft tent" that we are situated in), with the large marque tent displaying the competition entries and, after judging has been done rosettes are placed by each item.

This blip shows 3 entries to the competitions, the cup of flowers and the onions won prizes.

Beautiful sunny day (too hot really, especially in a marque with no breeze). Good company and an extra special surprise my cousin (Sue2014bs) turned up with her partner and dog Terry, lovely.
