Life's Journey

MacKenzie,s jetty

Dragged ourselves away from the pool for a spot of exploring. The sun was beating down (mad dogs and Englishmen) as we walked along the beach from the hotel, admiring white headed sea eagles and trying to photograph the armies of soldier crabs before they fled into their holes.
We eventually came to this old jetty, pretty much all that remains of the logging industry. Extraordinary to see old photos here of the buildings. An old rusting boiler and half buried tractor are other reminders.
This is only a phone camera snap but I like it as it conveys the heat and the forlorn breaking down structure.
