Mount Torlesse in Summer

There are only a few specks of snow left on the mountain. Now you can see that it is built of grey rock.

The mottled effect in the middle distance is due to a shimmering heat haze. It was hot today. Not very hot, but after weeks of low cloud 28C seems hot. Plants that have grown up in the last few weeks wilted after a couple of hours.

This morning was the first for a long time that the sky was clear at sunrise. I was surprised at how much later it was and how much further the sun has travelled since the last visible sunrise.

Mount Torlesse in winter.
