Wasps on water

Looking for an emergency Blip around the garden and then ended up with a choice of two.
One of a wild rabbit sitting amongst the stubble in the field next door which was a cute picture.
This one though I found interesting, wondered why so many wasps were busy on these roots of a reed that has toppled over in my pond.
