Between the local school and shopping centre is a little pocket of bush that for many years has been accumulating chip and chocolate wrappers, bottle tops, ciggy packets and other unmentionables!.

Now recogised as a remnant of old jarrah forest it boasts 15 jarrah trees and so far 85 spcies of wildflowers identified by a 'Friends' group dedicated to protecting what is left of untouched bushland in suburban areas.

Amazingly, not least because our shire council can be notoriously lazy, the area has been cleaned up, weeded of 'exotics', poshed up with a gazebo and benches and gazetted a park.

Have spotted three of the 85 !
