A Day out in Blackpool

we decided to have an adventure and rather than driving to Blackpool we got drove to Knott End, where there was FREE parking, got the foot ferry across the estuary to Fleetwood and then got the tram all the way down in to Blackpool. The journey was great, Reggie settled on the Tram and we enjoyed the view. we went past the Fisherman Friends factory ( for non British readers here is a link to the history of them), and then followed the coast down .

Blackpool itself is an experience. I felt very thin, and while we'd intended eating there neither of us saw anything that looked or sounded appetising. The whole town feels like a theme park experiment ! However there is something about the place, and we spent a few hours there quite happily. We walked along the central pier , and enjoyed the sights and sounds of greasy food outlets and fun fair. The Victorian benches along the pier are great and I took various photos of them. I also took some great ones of the Blackpool Tower from the pier, but there was something about these seagulls 'guarding' the pier with the big wheel that I just kept coming back to. Great to see the place busy, hope the traders all make enough to continue the great see side traditions
