Hoverfly feeding

I went to the castle to get a blip for today and a rat raced in front of me from the moat to the stream - too fast for the blip though! In almost thirty years of living here it's the first one that I've seen although I'm sure they've always been around. As I walked around the castle ground I noticed that people had left chips, bread, biscuits etc. on the grass as well as rubbish. Rich pickings for rats! The area usually looks tidy, what a shame that the warm weather has brought litterbugs that have no thought for others.
On a happier note, there were lots of insects around including this hoverfly.
