The girl and the three pigs!

We spent this afternoon playing with 35 children from the deaf unit here in Rukungiri. Football, badminton, skipping, bubbles, colouring, making friendship bracelets, hairwashing and then chai and cakes. The final offering was a drama by the volunteers of Goldilocks and the Three Bears , which we narrated and Betty, the teacher translated into sign language. Goldilocks was a bit difficult to translate to Ugandan children so she became "The girl" and there is no word for bear either, so Betty used" pigs" instead. The children loved it and I hope you can see Bob reading the story, Betty signing and the Three Bear Pigs acting their little trotters off!
