Every Day Is A holiday!

Sunset Moment

What a beautiful day...finally got the electrical issue with the boat fixed, which proved to be a set of wires crossed when the alternator was put in a week or so ago...ugh! But we can now venture out again onto the high seas:) We decided to head northeast to the Boundary Islands and go to a favorite spot of ours, Sucia Island. The trip over was beautiful...with the backdrop of Mount Baker in the background, and a clear day!

Along the way we saw another bait ball, and got some good photos of the birds/ducks in the area...along with a couple baby seals...too cute!

We were able to snag a mooring buoy in Fossil Bay near where the Blue Heron are...and I got some fun shots of them. The sunset was beautiful and I loved this photo which shows the gut between Fossil Bay and Fox Cove. I got to watch the moonset over the trees, another of my favorite things to do.

Here's a bit of history about Sucia that I found on the internet:
The Sucia Islands have an interesting history. The original Lummi tribe used the islands for refuge when hunting seals in the area. During the 1800s, the coastal location and numerous islands and coves made it a haven for smugglers. Everything from Chinese laborers, rum, in more modern days, drugs. At one point Canadian wool worked its way illegally through this area using the many coves and nooks as refuge to hide out and escape the authorities.
