Early Sun On Church

Today marked the last official day of my driving instruction 'career'. Sadly business had dropped off to a point where it was no longer viable. Ironically my last two pupils both passed their tests this week! It was actually quite a nice way to finish.

So now I am a 'man of leisure' - for a while at least.

Anyway I was out early with the dogs - although at least one of has forgotten and is asking to go out again - and walking back through the churchyard the sun was just breaking through the light cloud to illuminate the eastern end of the building.

The churchyard is Anglo-Saxon - the only one in West Yorkshire. It is still in use for burials. Here some of the graves date from the 1800s and in the foreground is the section that is currently used for burying cremation ashes. The graveyard also contains two communal graves for the unknown dead from the battle of Bramham Moor
