HUMMINGBIRDS

Have you ever tried to shoot one of these elusive little things in the wild...by that I mean away from a feeder? Let me just say...THEY ARE REALLY FAST!! Add to that the fact they are incredibly small, and you have problem!! Have you ever witnessed a hummingbird hunt and catch a gnat? Well, you have now!! :-)

These shots were with my 70-200 f/2.8 L, at 1/2000th of a second in available light. Even at that shutter speed, the wings are still not stopped. I really have to go back and try this again with a longer lens, and maybe add a flash for some added color and action-stopping ability!
