The best day ever....

This morning, with slightly fuzzy heads, my beautiful girl and I got the ferry across to Hoy with Sigyn the Inquisitive and Talisker the bewildered. We were met off the ferry by my parents, who are having a couple of days on Hoy. They took us to the start of the track that crosses the island leaving us with Evie the Wonderdog, and then met us at the other end of the track and we all walked to the Old Man of Hoy together.
It is years since I visited the Old Man of Hoy, and I had pretty much forgotten the walk. It was fantastic weather for the wanderings, and great to spend time walking and blethering with the parentage. Times, and people remembered, happy memories of good times.
We spent a while at the Old Man, then turned and headed back to Rackwick for a bit of a picnic. Mum and Dad then piled us and the woofers into the car and gave us a tour around the island. We stopped at the Dwarfie Stane, then a visit to Betty Corrigall's grave.
Tea and cakes at Longhope with Maw and Paw before we were driven back to the ferry.
The dogs are totally shattered, we are sunburnt, tired and blissfully happy.
I am the luckiest blokey in the world.
