Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford

We are very lucky - today we had our second graduation ceremony in the family in 2 weeks (see here). This time it was son number 3 getting his BA in history. Tradition still rules strongly in Oxford - for example (unlike in Sheffield) the main parts of the ceremony are spoken in Latin (fortunately they do provide an English translation in the programme booklet!).

This photo shows the Sheldonian Theatre beginning to fill up before the ceremony. It was designed by Christopher Wren, and apparently this week was the 350th anniversary of building work commencing. It's a very impressive venue - especially the ceiling.
