Tour De France

We drove from Chesham clockwise round the M25, and over the Thames at the Dartford Crossing, before arriving in Dover for the ferry to Dunkirk. The weather was really nice for the crossing and we got to France at 5. We had decided to camp in Belgium, at Ieper at the town's campsite, which is cheap and cheerful. We went into town after tea to look at the town defences and old buildings. Ieper had hosted the start of Stage 5 of the Tour de France, and the town had several decorations remaining. This one was one of a series of models, in shop windows. It sums up the tour nicely, crashes on the roads and the leader in his yellow jersey staying out of trouble.

Backblip from Annandale Water.
