What. The Tax Prep people never talk about

I spent most of the day today down in Springfield at yet another Pokemon event. This was in the parking lot, a couple doors down from where we were playing.
They're releasing a new set of cards in a couple of weeks so they have a "Pre-Release" tournament to suck everybody in to spend more money. We had about 10 participants from CU and about another 15 from Springfield and surrounding areas. At $25 each that's a pretty good haul for providing playing space for an afternoon. In all fairness, the entrants are given booster packs of cards that would have cost $50 or more to buy separately and those have to be purchased from Nintendo plus having to pay a licensing fee, but let's see, that's 25 x $25: $675. Not bad.
Sam got to judge again so that saved me $25, but then there was another tournament afterword that coat another $15 each. So I'm out $80 for the day, not counting drinks & food, gas, etc.
Sure hope they remember this later...
