lights out for world war one

Lit a candle at 10 pm to mark the 100th anniversary of Britain entering the First World War. As I was taking this photo of the candle outside, and its reflections on the granite, somewhere across Dublin bay there were fireworks going off, quite far away, it sounded like distant military fire, like the sound effects you hear on all the war films, at least. Quite eerie and haunting.

(Almost Mono Monday)
