Beam Me Up

Spectra by Ryoji Ikeda.

Forty nine search lights shine up into the sky from Victoria Tower Gardens to commemorate the beginning of WW1 a hundred years ago.
If you are in London you should be able to see the beam of light if you look toward Westminster.

"spectra is an artwork... marking a moment of national commemoration on the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. First appearing as the culmination of LIGHTS OUT on 4 August 2014, spectra's monumental beams of light punctuate the London sky from dusk until dawn for seven nights from their source in Victoria Tower Gardens."
