The Head of Langdale

On a beautiful morning we had a stunning ride through Langdale Valley. Parking was in fields below the Langdale Pikes. The course today was on open fell around Pike O Blisco. The only downside was the 400m climb to the start. However on a day like today this could not dampen the spirits.

We both enjoyed our runs although I suspect the runners will do well today. It is always difficult trying to balance running speed with the need to navigate precisely. Early starts meant we felt rather smug as we descended past a long crocodile of people making their way to the start.

This is the car park just below the Langdale Pikes. The views were fantastic on all sides I just liked this one of a group from West Cumberland Orienteering Club preparing to run.
