Well worth it

My walk to Kingston this morning had its rewards. There was the much needed exercise and I also got a laugh out of it in a nostalgic kind of way.

I was passing Teddington Studios and noticed some plaques on the wall outside. Couldn't help smiling when I saw the one dedicated to Harry Worth. That optical levitation trick of his with the shop window gave us loads of fun when we were kids. And it was innocent and didn't cost any money. Green's sweet shop on Walton Road in Liverpool was a good place to try it out.

Even now I get tempted to do it when I see the right kind of window. I wonder if the window in St. Anne's Square in Manchester where the original Harry sequence was filmed is still there.
