A day at the Games

We were off to Hampden today, to watch some of the track & field events in the Commonwealth Games. I had managed to get us tickets when they went on general sale - after looking at the prices of some of the more 'exciting' events (and the fact that they did no concession tickets for the boys), we decided that a more reasonably-priced morning session of heats & qualifying events would be fine for us to go and see (we just wanted to go to something to say that we had been really).

The kids really seemed to enjoy it - Aidan was cheering for the Scottish athletes (even when there weren't any taking part in a particular event/heat) and waving his wee Scottish flag. They lasted a good 3 and a bit hours before starting to get restless, so we thought it would be good to head off a wee bit early and miss out on the queue for the shuttlebus back to Glasgow city centre.

Here's a shot of Eilidh Child winning her hurdles heat.
