Wormwood Scrubs Prison

The Victorian prison at Wormwood Scrubs was once notorious for warden brutality (a governor called it "a penal dustbin") but then cleaned up its act. It’s a listed building, mainly because of its distinctive gatehouse, which features two oval plaster reliefs depicting prison reformers Elizabeth Fry and John Howard.
