Tower and Poppies

Another day in London with work but managed to find time over lunch to visit the WW1 Poppies installation at the Tower of London.

It really is striking, and there are dozens of volunteers hard at work "planting" the hundreds of thousands of ceramic blooms which will be put in place between now and Armistice Day. Eventually the entire moat will be filled.

It was teeming with so many tourists - literally 10 deep all the way round the top of the bank. It made it difficult to connect with the power of this important piece of art - like I saw it, but wasn't really able to FEEL it, if that makes sense. It struck me dawn would probably be the best time to visit to even get a chance of connecting more strongly.

Definitely worth seeing though - I'm glad I was able to.
