On holiday : A sea of glass at Aroaro Bay

I have had my eye on this boat for the last few days, and today it was sitting pretty perfect, with nice reflection, in a sunny spot, and a calm sea. Usually it is languishing on a mud bank!

For our early morning walk today we parked in the township walked across the Kopu Bridge and headed along the waters edge towards the harbour entrance. It is a brilliant day, not a cloud in the sky. We saw several waka's out on a training run, but was not in a good position to photograph them. Sitting in the sun with a couple of fishing rods in the water were a couple of fishermen, enjoying the perfect conditions. The day started with a frost, which is most unusual for this part of the world.

This afternoon we are heading over the hill to attend my cousin's 80th birthday party. I look forward to catching up with a lot of friends and relations.
