Bristol Balloon Fiesta

My first weekend in Bristol - and I'm spending it in Birmingham. Bristol, meanwhile, parties on; this weekend hosting an annual Balloon Fiesta which started today. While I may not get to see a storybook-like parade of balloons over Clifden Suspension Bridge, I got to take in the Nightglow event where the balloons light up the skies. Even better, we managed to convince the security staff manning the gates that we should go through - which meant we got into the middle of the action. Great fun, and very cool to be up close and personal with these odd flying machines.
