Hoge Kempen National Park, nature in all its glory!

Vast pine forests are interspersed with some flowering heather, large lakes witnesses gravel and sand extraction, high peaks offer great views, .... In this natural setting of many rare and unusual animals live.

This was taken in the vicinity of one of the five entrances to the National Park Hoge Kempen. The Malines Heath.

The National Park Hoge Kempen, in the Belgian province of Limburg, a unique area where more than 5700 hectares of forest and heath managed and protected. The area stretches across the municipalities Dilsen-Stokkem, Maasmechelen, Zutendaal, Lanaken, Genk and As.
