The Fish Farm Wedding

Tonight we played for an after wedding ceilidh with a difference. It was held at a fish farm in the Ceiriog Valley in a lovely setting between lake and river.
The couple were married on Wednesday and had a normal reception for the relations.
This was a weekend celebration for friends. We were told that during the afternoon they rowed across the lake and were "married" by two huge silver coloured model dogs on the jetty with guests making up the words for the ceremony.
We arrived while a disco was in full swing making it difficult to soundcheck as we were right in front of the speakers!
The guests were in fancy dress including about eight brides, gangsters and Carmen Miranda. When we got there we couldn't tell which was the real bride!
They danced on the grass (we were under a gazebo) and it was a lovely and amusing occasion. The food was great too - a barbecue without fish, they had only hired the fish farm grounds!
