The Carew Cross

"A royal memorial to Maredudd, who, in 1033, with his brother Hywel, became joint ruler of the early medieval kingdom of Deheubarth, now south-west Wales."

This cross gives me a wonderful sense of history as people around Carew Castle have seen this cross day by day for nearly a thousand years, just as we see it today. The castle and village have changed, but this cross remains the same.
