We went to three Fringe shows on Tuesday - a two-person play called Oleanna, which was performed by a Sydney drama tutor and one of his students , and was fabulous, and 5*; a "play" (for which, read "pantomime") called The Pure, the Dead and the Brilliant, which was about the Scottish independence referendum, and was a really disappointing 2*; and a very funny Japanese comedy and dance thing called Sushi Tap Show, which had me in tears of laughter. A definite 5* for folk like me who love crazy Japanese comedy! It may be an acquired taste, but I love shows like these.

In the evening, Ann had been invited to the launch of a new Thai restaurant, Siam Square, for a complementary buffet, a free beer or wine, and some musical entertainment, including a Thai superstar singer. Thankfully Ann was allowed to take a partner ;) It seemed that the whole of the lovely Thai community in Edinburgh were there! Fabulous people, and a very nice evening. And we'll be back.

The blip? One of the chandeliers in the Assembly Rooms, where the second show was held. It's much more interesting than the show itself was.
