Lapidarium

Today we went on a rather wet day out to Coldingham for a family get together. It was lovely to spend time together, and we were able to fit in a short walk to Coldingham Priory in between the rain drops.
This is a picture of a Lapidarium which seems to the word given to a collection of old carved masonry. You can see a weather Green man, old washing vessels and ancient grinding stones amongst other things.
My sister-in-law is looking at some very ancient Templar Knights gravestones slabs-which have huge swords carved on them, these date back to the times of the crusades. I would like to go back on a drier day!
