We are in Cyprus, we have visited Nicosia which is the last divided capital city in the world. It is also where I lived briefly as a child (RAF brat)

My nephew is over here as part of the United Nations peace keeping force, his battalion of the Irish guards are at Ledra palace hotel, once the most luxurious hotel in the capital. Now it is a bullet ridden run down building which houses the soldiers who patrol the buffer zone between South and Northern Cyprus.

Fact: there is no such place as the northern republic of Cyprus ! It is not recognised by any other country except the invaders turkey.

Fact: there is no such person as a Turkish Cypriot!

I am of course biased!
