Crown of Creation

Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in a while, climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. ~ John Muir

Mt Hood
Oregon's tallest peak gleams like a great white beacon above the Cascade forests. The 11,240 ft snow peak remains an active volcano, with 4 minor eruptions in the 1800's and one in 1907. It provides a mountaineering challenge, a winter sports playground and a dramatic backdrop for our hike to the Silcox Hut.
