An island retreat

This year LHRH decided to do something a little bit different for their Summer holidays and went to Croatia.

Was an early start but meant we were in Dubrovnik for lunch time. Had a bit of time to kill before we caught the boat to Lopud, our destination for the first half of the week. Slight mishap when RH stood on a nail and stabbed her foot, like something from a cartoon! Thankfully no lasting damage and we caught the boat with plenty of time. It was an easy hour sailing in the sunshine then we arrived on the island, the middle one in the the Elaphites.

This photo is looking across the bay towards the ferry terminal. There are no cars on the island, and it was a nice gentle walk around the bay to get to our hotel.

Started our first dinner of the holiday outside at a table overlooking the sea before having to hurry inside when the heavens opened. The state of things to come...
