Bare Trees

All I have seen teaches me teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen.~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Pacific Crest Trail

Prior to going on holiday I read the book WILD. Wild is Cheryl Strayed's first-person memoir of her 1,100-mile hike along the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to the border with Washington State, and contains flashbacks to prior life occurrences that led her to begin her mountain-climbing journey. So as a keen walker there was no way I was not going to cover at least a few miles of this trail to experience the wilderness and beauty.
The Pacific Crest Trail spans 2,650 miles (4,265 kilometers) from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, travels deep forests, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks in the Cascade Range. The trail symbolizes everything there is to love—and protect—in the Western United States.
