Kisses from Whinnie…

Spent the day dodging rain showers up at HorseBack UK. This week's course participants are all veterans who have lost limbs during service. They were there as part of another charity, BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Service Men's Association).

Throughout the week, they will have the opportunity to learn horsemanship skills and western riding along with several other activities. The western riding is key to HorseBack UK's "mobility with dignity" ethos… aiming to de-stigmatise disability, both mentally and especially this week, physical. Riding the horses also helps give those who may have been wheelchair bound a different perspective, used to being looked down on, they can see the world from new heights.

The day flew by, due to the high hilarity and jokes shared by the course participants and the HBUK team. Their positive, bright outlooks with a "will give it a shot" attitudes are certainly an inspiration to us all.

Next week, HorseBack UK's team will be heading to Blair Atholl Horse Trails as they are this year's chosen charity for the event. Really looking forwards to being part of the team, I'm sure it will be a great few days.
